Scope, editions and important clarifications

Kitemark is a certification scheme, not a standard

The BSI Kitemark is a third-party certification scheme owned and operated by BSI. It certifies conformity to an underlying standard or scheme specification — so the requirements you must meet come from that standard, and the Kitemark is the mark awarded on successful assessment.

BS EN 1090 is a multi-part series

BS EN 1090 is a series of parts covering execution of steel and aluminium structures and the conformity assessment of structural components. Product scope, the applicable part(s), and the market marking route (UKCA in Great Britain, CE/UKNI where relevant) must be assessed for your specific products and target markets before any certification route is confirmed. We carry out that scoping assessment first.

Legacy standards — not offered as a current service

BS OHSAS 18001 — legacy standard

BS OHSAS 18001 has been withdrawn and superseded by ISO 45001. We do not offer it as a current certification service; we support migration from legacy OHSAS 18001 systems to ISO 45001.
